ADVICE FOR PROSPECTIVE MICROSOFT DYNAMICS CLIENTS
As you probably already know, Microsoft does not directly distribute or service their commercial software to customers. Instead, they partner with consulting companies and resellers through what is called the Microsoft Partner Network. These verified consulting companies are also referred to as Solution Providers. But before searching the directory for a consultant, it may be useful to know a bit about the Microsoft Dynamics line of business management software.
Microsoft Dynamics is a line of business management software that is a division of Microsoft Business Solutions. Each Dynamics software caters to different business needs. The easiest way to narrow down the Dynamics selection is to consider the size of your company and whether you primarily provide services or manufacturing.

ERP
ERP is an initialism that stands for Enterprise Resource Planning. ERPs are a category of business management software. ERPs are usually manufacturing oriented (e.g. computer-integrated manufacturing, manufacturing resource, and material requirements planning) or oriented towards large-scale financial operations.
Not all ERPs are from Microsoft, for example, there is the German software SAP (Systems, Applications & Products in Data Processing). Also, not all Microsoft Dynamics software are ERPs, although most are.
